A major project co-financed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has been successfully completed at Riga Airport. The initiative, titled “Establishment of Electricity Supply and Charging Infrastructure in the Baltic States’ Airports along the North Sea–Baltic CNC/TEN-T Corridor for Transition to Environmentally Friendly Operations,” has resulted in the development of a modern EV charging infrastructure, enabling sustainable and efficient energy supply for the airport’s ground support units and other vehicles.
The charging points have been installed in strategically important areas — on the airside apron and in the technical zone near the airport’s maintenance and operations buildings. The infrastructure supports charging capacities of up to 200 kW, 100 kW, and 50 kW, allowing fast and efficient charging for various types of vehicles and technical units.
The infrastructure implementation was carried out by SIA Energolukss, which installed and configured 27 Delta Electronics EV charging units. Known for their reliability, high efficiency, and adaptability to various charging needs, Delta is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of energy management and charging technologies, with solutions deployed in airports, urban infrastructure, and transportation networks worldwide.
Laila Odiņa, Chairwoman of the Board at Riga Airport:
“The development of EV charging infrastructure at Riga Airport — alongside the reconstruction of our energy supply system, the transition of our fleet to electric vehicles, and other activities — is a significant step toward achieving our strategic sustainability goals. It substantially reduces the use of fossil fuels in airport operations and facilitates the transition to environmentally friendly solutions. This project is part of our broader sustainability strategy aimed at achieving climate neutrality and net-zero emissions by 2035.”
SIA Energolukss is proud to have delivered this project — a significant step in Riga Airport’s transition to sustainable operations. It also demonstrates the company’s capacity to implement large-scale, technologically complex projects by providing high-quality installation and configuration services that ensure reliable and efficient infrastructure performance.
